Clean solution for clean air: e-troFit wins the International busplaner Sustainability Award

A smart solution for clean urban transport: For this idea, e-troFit wons the International Sustainability Award of the magazine busplaner. in-tech's e-troFit concept is an innovative retrofit solution for city buses that allows existing diesel vehicles to be converted to the environmentally friendly electric drive.

Partner ZF Aftermarket supplies the driveline components as a system supplier and at the same time provides the worldwide workshop network for conversions. The goal of the partnership is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in urban traffic by providing conventionally powered buses with an environmentally friendly "second life" electric bus. "With e-troFit, we are enabling local authorities to quickly switch to electric mobility in local public transportation. We are therefore very pleased to receive the sustainability award" says Andreas Hager, head of the New Mobility Solutions business unit at in-tech.

About the award

The International busplaner Sustainability Award is presented every two years to companies that develop sustainable solutions for the bus and coach industry. The independent, top-class jury selects the winners in categories such as electric bus, natural gas bus, hybrid bus, concept bus, minibus and midibus, coach and hydrogen bus.

The award was presented this year on 18 March in Berlin as part of the Bus2Bus trade fair.
